Abdominal Surgery Following a Laparoscopy for Endometriosis

Sometimes during laparoscopic surgery for endometriosis, problems come up that were not expected. If this happens, your doctor might need to change your planned surgery to something more serious. This means your abdomen (stomach) may have a bigger incision in it. If your life is in danger, the abdominal surgery will help the doctor see where the problems are and try to fix them. This does not happen often, but you and your family should be aware of this possibility.
