Ketoprofen Drug Interactions (Cont.)

More Detail on Ketoprofen Interactions

Other Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Using these pain relievers with ketoprofen can increase the risk for bleeding. Generally, it is safe to use acetaminophen (Tylenol®) products with ketoprofen.

Aspirin
Studies have indicated that when aspirin and ketoprofen are used together, the chances are higher for developing stomach ulcers or other problems in the digestive system. Aspirin may also decrease the levels of ketoprofen in the blood. Talk to your healthcare provider about using ketoprofen and aspirin together in your situation.

Warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven)
If you are taking blood thinners, such as warfarin, while taking ketoprofen, your body may metabolize them differently than intended. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your INR and prothrombin time more frequently and adjust your dosages accordingly. INR and prothrombin time are tests used to measure how well your blood is clotting.

Lithium (Eskalith, Lithane, Lithonate, Lithotabs)
Taking ketoprofen and lithium together may increase the levels of lithium in your body by decreasing the removal of lithium by the kidneys. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs and monitor the level of lithium in your blood.

Diuretics (Torsemide [Demadex], Furosemide [Lasix], Hydrochlorothiazide)
Ketoprofen may reduce the activity of diuretics. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.

ACE Inhibitors (Accupril, Lotensin, Vasotec, Altace, Zestril, Prinivil, Monopril, Capoten)
Ketoprofen may inhibit the blood pressure-lowering effects of ACE inhibitors. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
