Methotrexate (Rheumatrex, Trexall)
If you are taking both methotrexate and Indocin, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
Cyclosporine (Gengraf, Neoral, Sandimmune)
Taking Indocin and cyclosporine together may increase the chances for kidney damage. Your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely and may need to adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
Diflunisal (Dolobid)
Taking diflunisal and Indocin together may increase the levels of Indocin in the blood. Taking these medicines together may also lead to fatal bleeding in the stomach or intestines. Therefore, healthcare providers usually do not recommend that these medicines be used together.
 
Corticosteroids
Using corticosteroids with Indocin can increase the risk for bleeding. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor you more closely or adjust your dose of these drugs.
 
Probenecid (Benemid, Probalan)
Taking probenecid with Indocin may increase the levels of Indocin in the blood. Therefore, your healthcare provider may recommend a lower dose of Indocin and monitor you more closely.
 
Herbal and Nutritional Supplements
Several herbal and nutritional supplements can also interact with Indocin and may increase the risk of bleeding. If you are taking any natural or herbal supplements, make sure to discuss it with your healthcare provider before starting Indocin therapy.
