Flector Side Effects

Although most people do not experience any problems while using the skin patch, side effects are possible with Flector. Some of the most common side effects that have been reported with this product include itching, nausea, and various skin reactions. While most side effects of the patch do not require medical attention, you should contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience chest pain, bloody vomit, or rapid weight gain.

An Introduction to Flector Side Effects

As with any medicine, side effects are possible with the Flector® Patch (diclofenac patch). However, not everyone who uses the medication will have problems. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by you or your healthcare provider.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Flector. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Flector side effects with you.)

Common Side Effects of Flector

Flector has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occurred in a group of people using Flector were documented and compared to side effects that occurred in another group of people using a placebo patch (a patch with no active ingredients). This way, it is possible to see what side effects occurred, how often they appeared, and how they compared to the placebo.
In these studies, the most common side effects with Flector included (but were not limited to):
  • Itching -- in up to 5 percent of people
  • Various skin reactions (such as redness, irritation, or dryness) -- up to 4 percent
  • Nausea -- up to 3 percent
  • Various digestive problems (such as vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation) -- up to 3 percent
  • Change of taste -- up to 2 percent
  • Indigestion or heartburn -- up to 1 percent
  • Headache -- up to 1 percent
  • Drowsiness -- up to 1 percent
  • Unusual sensations (such as tingling or numbness) -- up to 1 percent.
