What Is Feldene Used For?
Feldene relieves pain, inflammation, and stiffness caused by a number of conditions, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. However, the drug does not cure or slow down the progression of these conditions. A few off-label uses for Feldene include treating symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome, juvenile arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.

Feldene is not a cure for the types of arthritis mentioned here, however, nor does it slow down the progression of the disease.
How Does It Work?Feldene and other NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones, called prostaglandins, that cause inflammation and pain in the body. By blocking the effects of prostaglandins, Feldene can help alleviate pain, inflammation, and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis.

Is Feldene Used for Off-Label Reasons?On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Feldene for something other than the conditions discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. Some examples of off-label uses for Feldene include the relief of:
