Feldene Drug Interactions

Medications that can interact with Feldene include other NSAIDs -- such as nabumetone, ibuprofen, and naproxen -- as well as corticosteroids like prednisone and dexamethasone. Drug interactions may cause your body to metabolize the medicines differently than intended and increase the levels in your blood. Also, taking Feldene with herbal and nutritional supplements like ginger, garlic, and St. John's wort may increase your risk of bleeding.

Feldene Interactions: An Overview

Feldene® (piroxicam) can potentially interact with a number of medicines. Some of the medicines that may cause drug interactions with Feldene include:
 
 
 
 
 
  • Methotrexate (Rheumatrex®, Trexall)
  • Cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®)
  • Corticosteroids, such as prednisone, hydrocortisone (Cortef®), dexamethasone (Decadron®, Dexone®, Hexadrol®), and many others.
 
Several herbal and nutritional supplements can also interact with Feldene and may increase the risk of bleeding. Examples of these include but are not limited to:
