Feldene Drug Interactions (Cont.)

Interactions With Feldene Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Feldene is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven)
If you are taking other blood thinners, such as warfarin, while taking Feldene, your body may metabolize them differently than intended. You healthcare provider may choose to monitor your INR and prothrombin time more frequently and adjust your dosages accordingly. INR and prothrombin time are tests used to measure how well your blood is clotting.

Other Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs)
Using these pain relievers with Feldene can increase the risk of bleeding. Acetaminophen (Tylenol®) products can be safely used.

Aspirin
Aspirin and Feldene can be used together; however, studies have indicated that the chances are higher for stomach ulcers when these medicines are combined. Talk with your healthcare provider about taking aspirin and Feldene together.

ACE Inhibitors (Accupril, Lotensin, Vasotec, Altace, Zestril, Prinivil, Monopril, Capoten)
Feldene may inhibit the blood pressure-lowering effects of ACE inhibitors. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your doses of these drugs to prevent this interaction from occurring.

Diuretics (Torsemide [Demadex], Furosemide [Lasix], Hydrochlorothiazide)
Feldene may reduce the activity of diuretics. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your doses of these drugs to prevent this interaction.

Lithium (Eskalith, Lithane, Lithonate, Lithotabs)
Taking Feldene and lithium together may increase the levels of lithium in your body by decreasing the removal of lithium by the kidneys. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your doses of these drugs and monitor the level of lithium in your blood.
