Potential Etodolac Extended-Release Side Effects

As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with etodolac extended-release. However, not everyone who takes the medicine will experience side effects. When people do develop etodolac extended-release side effects, though, they are generally minor and either require no treatment or can easily be treated by a healthcare provider.
 
Common side effects of this drug include:
 
Less common but serious side effects include:
 
  • Cardiovascular problems, including heart attack or stroke
  • Stomach or intestine problems, including bleeding, ulcers, or a hole (known as a perforation)
  • Liver damage
  • Kidney problems, including kidney failure
  • Fluid retention
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Allergic reaction
  • Severe unexplained rash.
     
These possible side effects are seen with all NSAIDs, and also can lead to life-threatening complications or even loss of life.
