Drug Interactions With Etodolac Extended-Release

Digoxin
Etodolac extended-release may increase the level of digoxin in your bloodstream, increasing the risk of dangerous digoxin side effects. If you are taking digoxin, check with your healthcare provider before starting or stopping etodolac extended-release.

Diuretics
Combining etodolac extended-release with a diuretic can increase the risk of kidney problems, especially in people who already have kidney problems, and can decrease the effectiveness of the diuretic.

Lithium
Taking etodolac extended-release and lithium together may increase the levels of lithium in your body by reducing the kidneys' ability to remove lithium. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs and monitor the level of lithium in your blood.

"Blood Thinners" and Other Similar Drugs
Combining etodolac extended-release with anticoagulants ("blood thinners"), antiplatelet drugs, or other medications that increase the risk of bleeding may lead to serious bleeding problems, including dangerous internal bleeding. Do not combine etodolac extended-release with such medications without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.

Methotrexate
Etodolac extended-release may increase the risk of methotrexate toxicity. Do not combine these medications without your healthcare provider's supervision and approval.

Probenecid
Probenecid may increase the level of etodolac extended-release in the blood, which increases the risk of side effects. Check with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.

SSRIs or SNRIs
Combining a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) or a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) with etodolac extended-release may increase the risk of bleeding. Check with your healthcare provider before taking etodolac extended-release with an SSRI or SNRI.
