For many medications, the prescribing information carefully explains the exact percentage of side effects that were reported in clinical trials. However, the prescribing information for almost all older medications (including Darvon) includes only vague information on potential side effects, with no percentages provided.   • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
  • Signs of liver damage, such as:
     
    • Yellowing of the whites of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
    • Dark urine
    • Upper-right abdominal pain (stomach pain)
 
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, such as:
     
    • An unexplained rash
    • Itching
    • Hives
    • Swelling of the mouth or throat
    • Wheezing
    • Difficulty breathing.
