Darvocet® (propoxyphene/acetaminophen) is a prescription medicine used for relieving mild to moderate pain. It contains a narcotic and is classified as a controlled substance. Generally, this drug is used on an "as needed" basis (up to every four hours as needed for pain). You should talk to your healthcare provider before using it if you have depression, suicidal tendencies, or a history of alcohol or drug abuse. Potential side effects of this medication include vomiting, dizziness, nausea, and drowsiness.
