Darvocet® (propoxyphene/acetaminophen) is a medication commonly prescribed to help relieve mild to moderate pain, with or without a fever. Because it contains a narcotic drug, it is classified as a controlled substance. It is important to talk to your healthcare provider before taking it if you are pregnant or have liver disease, depression, or a history of alcohol or drug dependence. Potential side effects of the medicine include nausea, dizziness, vomiting, and drowsiness.
