Darvocet^® (propoxyphene/acetaminophen) is a prescription drug licensed for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, with or without a fever. It is a combination medication that contains both a narcotic and acetaminophen (a pain reliever and fever reducer commonly found in over-the-counter products). The medicine is often used on an "as needed" basis, which means you should only take it as needed for pain, no more than every four hours. Potential side effects of the medicine include nausea, drowsiness, and dizziness.
