Drug Interactions With Cyclobenzaprine

Several medications can cause drug interactions with cyclobenzaprine, so tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking before starting treatment. Medications that may interact with cyclobenzaprine include alcohol, anesthetics, and MAOIs. Some of these drug interactions with cyclobenzaprine can increase the risks of side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, memory loss, or difficulty breathing.

 

An Overview of Drug Interactions With Cyclobenzaprine

Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride (Flexeril®) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to cyclobenzaprine drug interactions include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Anesthetics
  • Anticholinergic medications, including:

 

 

  • Barbiturates, including:

 

    • Amobarbital (Amytal®)
    • Butalbital (Fioricet®, Fiorinal®)
    • Pentobarbital (Nembutal®)
    • Phenobarbital (Luminal®)
    • Secobarbital (Seconal®)

 

  • Benzodiazepines, including:

 

 

  • Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), including:

 

 

  • Narcotics or opiates, such as morphine, oxycodone (OxyContin®), or hydrocodone (Lortab®, Vicodin®)
  • Sleep medications
  • Tramadol (Ultram®) or tramadol and acetaminophen (Ultracet®).
