Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride (Flexeril®) is a prescription medication approved to treat certain types of muscle spasms. Typically, it is used for the short-term treatment of muscle spasms caused by injuries or other muscle problems. However, it cannot treat muscle spasms caused by brain or spinal cord problems. Some of the common side effects seen with this muscle relaxant include dizziness, fatigue, and a dry mouth. Prior to taking cyclobenzaprine, make sure to talk to your healthcare provider about your medical history and any other medicines you are taking (including vitamins and herbal supplements).
