Clinoril

What Is Clinoril?

Clinoril^® (sulindac) is a prescription medicine used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, fever, and stiffness. It can also be used to treat symptoms of osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, or rheumatoid arthritis.

Clinoril is in a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs for short.

How Does It Work?

Clinoril and other NSAIDs are thought to work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. These hormones are called prostaglandins.

Effects

By blocking the effects of prostaglandins, Clinoril is useful at reducing pain related to bone, muscle, or tendon injury or inflammation; reducing fever; and alleviating pain and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis and other conditions.
