Ansaid

Ansaid is a prescription drug that is licensed to treat symptoms related to osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. By blocking the effects of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body, the medicine is effective at reducing pain, inflammation, stiffness, and fever. Ansaid comes as a tablet taken several times a day and is available in several strengths, including 50 mg and 100 mg. Some common Ansaid side effects include insomnia, dizziness, and abdominal pain (or stomach pain).

 

What Is Ansaid?

Ansaid® (flurbiprofen) is a prescription medicine used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, inflammation, fever, and/or stiffness caused by osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Ansaid is part of a class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or NSAIDs for short.

Who Makes Ansaid?

Ansaid is manufactured by Pfizer.
 

How Does Ansaid Work?

Ansaid and other NSAIDs are thought to work by inhibiting the action of certain hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. These hormones are called prostaglandins.
 

Effects of Ansaid

By blocking the effects of prostaglandins, Ansaid is useful at reducing fever and pain related to a number of conditions. This includes pain related to inflammation or bone, muscle, or tendon injury; and pain and joint swelling associated with different forms of arthritis and other conditions. Ansaid is not a cure for these types of arthritis, nor does it affect the progression of the disease.
