Drug Interactions With Anaprox (Cont.)

Anaprox Interactions Explained

The following sections provide more detail on the interactions with Anaprox listed above.

Warfarin
If you are taking blood thinners, such as warfarin, while taking Anaprox, your body may metabolize these drugs differently than intended. Your healthcare provider may choose to monitor your INR and prothrombin time more frequently and adjust your dosages accordingly if this is the case. INR and prothrombin time are tests used to measure how well your blood is clotting.

Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs
Using these pain relievers with Anaprox can increase the risk of bleeding. Acetaminophen (Tylenol®) products, however, can be safely used.

Aspirin
Studies have indicated that the risk of stomach ulcers is higher when aspirin and Anaprox are combined. Talk with your healthcare provider about using aspirin and Anaprox together in your particular situation.

ACE Inhibitors
Anaprox may inhibit the blood pressure-lowering effects of ACE inhibitors. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs if this interaction occurs.

Diuretics
Anaprox may reduce the activity of diuretics. If you are taking these drugs together and this interaction occurs, your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these medications.

Lithium
Taking Anaprox and lithium together may increase the levels of lithium in your body by decreasing the amount of lithium removed by the kidneys. Your healthcare provider may need to adjust your dose of these drugs and monitor the level of lithium in your blood if this happens.

Methotrexate
If you are taking both methotrexate and Anaprox, your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely. He or she may need to adjust your dose of these drugs if problems occur.
